Cleansing your crystals

Crystals are like sponges and absorb the energy they come into contact with, so it's important to cleanse them regularly & especially when you first get them as you don't want to be carrying anyone else's smog with you.

It also sets you up nicely for charging that Crystal for what you want to use it for, check out the page - Working with your crystals.

Here's a few methods that I use personally. Please remember when you're using these methods to set your intentions of clearing any stagnant energy.

Smoke Cleansing : I use Sage Smudging sticks, incense or palo santo. When the smoke surrounds your crystal/mineral, envisage it removing any negativity. If you wish you can say a prayer or mantra.

Selenite / Satin Spar : A quick and easy way to cleanse, just pop your crystals on top or nearby & let it work its magic. Remember to set those intentions of clearing negativity.

Sound : This is such a lovely way to cleanse, I use either my singing bowl, Tingsha Bells or Shamanic drum. I begin to play the instrument and let the sound waves clear away any negativity.

The Earth : A great tool for grounding & cleansing ourselves, feeling that connection to mother nature. So why not the same for crystals too.

Sunlight : The early morning suns rays are a lovely way to cleanse your crystals, but please make sure they are suitable first as some can't handle the heat. Aim to leave your crystals out for no more than 1-2 hours.

Moonlight : Another favourite of mine, just place your crystals either outside on the ground or inside on your windowsill on those rainy nights & allow the full moon energy to cleanse the accumulated energy. This works on a cloudy night too, aim to bring your crystals in first thing in the morning.

Running water : Ideally from a natural source, hold there for a minutes & then allow them to naturally air dry. Remember not all are water safe so please check before using this method as we don't want any ruined crystals.

I'm sure there are probably more ways that others use, these are just some of the ones I've tried previously myself & have enjoyed.
